Thanks for the message from
Scoma’s. You are our favorite all-time restaurant in the world.
My wife and I live in Bismarck,
North Dakota and travel all over the world and have eaten in some pretty
neat places, but none of them ever equal your hospitality, service and
food quality. We just booked our flight to San Francisco for Sept 17
to 21 just to spend some time in our favorite city and celebrate my
wife’s 65 birthday on September 19. We do expect that we will have
dinner at Scoma’s that evening, so are looking forward to the great
food experience once again.
See you all in about 6 weeks.

We have visited Scomas every time we have visited San Francisco since
1978... We love the Fresh Fish and the wonderful, friendly staff. Although
you often have to wait to be seated, they tell you up front approximately
how long and you can wander around while you wait, or have a lovely
beverage. Thanks for staying so constantly great.....

We ate there yesterday for lunch...what a treat! The calamari fritti
calabrese is the BEST...and I don't even really like calamari that much.
Would LOVE to have the recipe if you'd be willing to share it. The ambience
at the bar and in the whole restaurant (PLUS the view) is just wonderful.
Tremendous staff and so helpful and personable. Raul was our bartender
and he really made us feel at home. It was a distinct pleasure spending
time in your restaurant yesterday. We can't wait to go back and plan
to do so just as soon as possible. Many thanks!!

I would love to see a demonstration of your fabulous Jack Daniels sourdough
bread pudding! We had out-of-state visitors who intend to return to
Scoma's on their next visit just to have the bread pudding! (Well...OK...they
liked the caramelized scallops, too...)

I was able
to visit San Francisco for work this year and ate at Scoma's on the
wharf. I got the pasta diplomatica and loved it! I live in Oregon and
was wondering if I could get the recipe and try to cook it at home.
I noticed that several recipes are listed on Scoma's website but I did
not see this one. Thanks!

Hello Scoma's I miss you so much. I am a retired San Francisco Cop (35+
years) My wife and I lived just a few blocks away and we enjoyed so
many wonderful meals with you, for a few years I had the beat on the
wharf, and your hospitality to the beat officers was so much appreciated.
As a cop we are constantly asked which is the best restaurant on the
wharf. My answer was always Scoma's. As I said I am now retired and
we live in Reno, but we always make it a point to come to Scoma's when
we are back in town. Our typical meal would be an appetizer of calamari
fritti, a salad and most often the main course was PETRALE DORE washed
down with a nice Alto Adige PINOT GRIGIO. … When I was on the beat
if a tourist asked what was good, I would say..... everything! but my
personal favorite ... Petrale Dore!

Scoma's is OUR favorite restaurant in the world. I was introduced to
it many many years ago by a gentleman who married my Grandmother and
who was a chef in the Bay Area. Each time that we visit San Francisco
we always make it a point to eat at Scoma's and I make it a point to
recommend your restaurant to our patients who are traveling to San Francisco.
The food is excellent and beautifully presented. The service is impeccable
AND the consistency of the Scoma's experience is beyond reproach. Did
I mention that you shake up a terrific Martini? Keep on keeping on.

A fabulous meal and an equally gracious host (Juan) who looked after
all our needs. The crab, the salmon, the ravioli, the cheesecake...the
wine selection...all of the finest quality. Everything I'd heard about
you in Maglazwich, a small town in eastern Kahzikstan, was accurate.
You have made my trip to America so justified. Thank you.

To the management, Just to let you know we were there in your restaurant
in Pier 47 with my group and encountered the most excellent employee
that you have there. Not sure if she's in the management but she works
on the floor. I want you to know she did an excellent job. It was a
busy evening but she took care of us so well. The food is excellent
too. i am letting you know that you have a very good employee the name
that she gave us was Mary J. She is a great asset to your company.

We visited your restaurant on Sunday evening 5 April 2009. While waiting
in the lobby deciding whether to eat or go elsewhere we met Al's wife
Cheryl who persuaded us to give Scoma's a whirl, best decision we made
as we had a great evening. From the courteous service in the bar to
being well looked after by John in the restaurant, our table over looking
the marina and the fabulous food we felt really spoilt. We all had different
dishes; dungeness crab, petrale, seafood saute, firecracker prawns plus
more and everything was cooked perfectly and was all the better being
washed down with a nice bottle of Muscadet followed by a delicious Sancere,
and of course sweet. We will certainly recommend you to our friends
and anyone we hear who is visiting your great city. A big thank you
to Cheryl who charmingly persuaded us to stay, to John and all the rest
of the staff.
Best wishes Fiona, Karen and
Ian.

Hi there. Scoma's has been a family favorite for generations. Even though
we live in Sacramento now, and formerly in LA, we'd make sure to dine
at your restaurant every visit. I've had Intel corporate events in the
banquet room a few times. Love it! So my son turns into a teenager this
weekend, and instead of a birthday party he wants to instead have a
family lunch at Scoma's. We'll be driving Saturday or Sunday a total
of 4 hours just for lunch, but I'm sure it will be worth it! Is there
anything special that can be done for Max? I know it's just four of
us, but maybe there's something. Thanks!!!

Dear Scomas; For the last 11 years I celebrated my birthday in San Francisco
at your restaurant. Last night was one of the best. I turned 43 and
the dinner was outstanding. One particular tasty morsel stood out. The
roasted beets on the salad were fantastic. Are you willing to give up
your recipe? I hope it is not a secret. I have a large garden every
year and beets are in the ground. I love your vegetable, pasta, and
seafood items. Very crisp and tasty delectables. All your recipes are
over the top. I love Scomas and will be back next March 8th. Also our
server was a very nice woman. She sang happy birthday to me by herself
and that was terrific. Thank you for the wonderful meals and superb
service. You are the very best. Stefanie K. Vargas

I normally never take the time nor HAVE the time to write a restaurant
about my experience…. But after dining at Scoma’s last night I really
feel the need to. The food was extremely generous and delicious, but
more so, our waiter, Heros was the BEST ever! Heros went far above and
beyond customer service! As soon as we sat down, he could tell we had
wild boys that were very hungry. He offered to bring them some noodles,
then took their order and served them immediately so my husband and
I could enjoy ourselves. Dining out is a very rare occasion for us and
I wanted to tell you what an amazing employee you have. My youngest
son left the restaurant calling Heros his friend, and he even mentioned
him this morning. His service is very rare and much appreciated! I wish
we had the funds to tip him 40%... because I truly would have! We will
defiantly dine @ your restaurant again and hope to get our “friend”
Heros…. A true gem! Many thanks, Heros for making our evening so special!

I am from Portland, OR and
recently went on a work trip to San Francisco. I brought my Mom with
me this time and we tried Scomas on fisherman’s wharf for the first
time. We liked the restaurant so much that after having lunch there
we came back for dinner on the same day. My Mom came back the next day
for lunch while I was in training. We agreed that our favorite dish
that we tried at Scomas was the Pasta Diplomatica. It had a cream sauce
with different kinds of shellfish and grilled seafood. I noticed that
there are several recipes posted on your website from the restaurant
but could not find the Pasta Diplomatica. I was wondering if I could
get the recipe for this dish so I could try cooking it at home since
I don’t have the chance to go to California very often. When I do
though I will defiantly make sure and go to Scomas. It has become one
of my favorite restaurants and I would recommend it to anyone. Thanks
for your time and consideration.

Dear Scoma's Staff, I just wanted to send a heartfelt thank you for
a special anniversary dinner we had at your AWESOME restaurant last
night!!! I would like to especially thank Laura for making our 20th
anniversary a special one...making sure we had a great, private booth
as well as giving us the "red carpet" treatment. Not to mention
extra special attention being paid to us by the staff...many times congratulating
us for our 20th!!! Another special thanks to our waiter Bruce for his
special attention, recommendations (anyone reading that's visiting for
the 1st time-get the Swordfish!), and warm/friendly personality....you
helped to make it a very memorable night. Thanks so very much to all
of you...it's a memory we'll never forget!

Hello, My name is Lupe and I live in Southern California. I just wanted
to let you guys know that I had an awesome experience on my first visit
to San Francisco this past Valentine's day. My boyfriend and I loved
the delicious food you served and also the drinks. Steve was an excellent
bar tender and so was the waiter which I should remember his name but
I guess I am getting a little old and already forgot. Once again just
wanted to say "Thank you" Keep up the good work!

Had dinner at Scoma's on the Wharf for my 60th birthday last week (Jan
15), and the experience was outstanding. My girlfriend and I got seated
promptly at a table with a beautiful view of the bay, where we received
great service and food. I had the Fisherman's Pasta, and my gf had the
Cippino (we prefer to call it "Rich Man's" instead of "Lazy
Man's"), and both were delicious and prepared perfectly. I've been
to Scoma's for several birthdays’ but this one had to be the best.
Definitely worth the short drive from Sacramento.

I just left your restaurant and just wanted to say that your swordfish
was just perfect as usual. Each year, I return to S.F. for the MacWorld
convention and ever since trying Scoma's a few years ago, your restaurant
is always on my list of places to go. No matter where I eat, I at least
visit Scoma's once each trip. The seafood is amazing I wanted to compliment
my waiter Jose. Not only was he keeping up with service in what sometimes
seems like a beehive of activity but, he found time to be sociable with
the clientele. And since I frequently dine alone while on business,
I find that waiters treat single tables quite differently. Jose was
very warm and accommodating... a real professional even though I was
probably a small tip compared to other tables. Please thank him from
a repeat client from the Midwest.
